Aquila yawned once more. The idea of sleep was very appealing, though she had an irrational fear that he'd somehow vanish whilst she slept, or that this was just some messed up dream. If that was the case, she really didn't want to wake up at all.

"Mmm." She hummed.

Aquila smiled softly as he laid down beside her, and she reached down to kick her shoes off the bed. She moved closer to him and rested her head against his chest, her eyes sliding shut as she yawned again. She was so tired.

"Good."

She nodded her head to acknowledge that she'd heard him, and then she rather quickly fallen asleep.

Lucian merely smiled as he watched Aquila getting quieter and quieter as she grew more and more tired, he was a little bit befuddled how this had all happened so quickly, but then he thought that perhaps that's how these things were supposed to happen.

He found himself hoping that it lasted a lot longer than it took to start, and took to realise what this feeling was.

Yawning himself, he let himself fall asleep making sure that Aquila wasn't going to fall out of the bed when she turned over or something by keeping his arms around her.

"Sleep sweet Aquila." he murmured and kissed the top of her head.

Aquila slept restlessly, her limbs aching violently as she dreamt of horrific things. She was always running down a dark tunnel, her body aching with protest. She broke out into a cold sweat in both the dream and reality. In her dream, there was always something chasing her, something bad. She didn't like what it was, and she tried as hard as she could but she knew that one day it would capture her.

She awoke in the middle of the night, her body trembling. She panicked as she felt arms around her, and she looked up with fear only to see that it was Lucian sleeping peacefully beside her. She let out a breath of relief and buried her face against his chest, her body trembling softly.

Lucian stirred in his sleep when he felt something stirring next to him, slowly at first he made a small noise of discomfort, but then he managed to get back to sleep until he felt the thing move again and he jolted awake rubbing at his eyes to stop the sleep making him falling back to sleep again.

He saw that it was Aquila that was awake, and it was a little bit shocking to him and he hugged her a little bit harder, making himself calmer from being jolted awake, with a small smile, he tilted her head up and asked quietly;

"Hey there, did you have a bad dream?" he whispered quietly.

Just as Aquila was settling down a bit, she felt Lucian's arms tighten around her and he tilted her head upwards. She started, but immediately relaxed once more and found comfort within his dark eyes that may have been creepy, even scary to others but to her - they were beautiful.

She'd never really been all that normal.

She nodded her head and sighed softly. She hated that dream, she kept having it as of late. She feared that the thing that was chasing her was her cancer. She didn't like that thought at all. She would prefer it was just a nightmare that meant nothing.

"Yeah, I keep having it lately."

She murmured.

Lucian smiled reassuringly a Aquila and made sure that she knew that he was there for her if she needed him, after all it was something that he wanted her to know for any occassion, he had almost toyed with giving her a tattoo like his own but had stopped, it was a painful process.

"A reoccuring dream hmm? I've always been good with finding out the meanings of dreams if you want to tell me, I could give it a go." he said quietly "Of course you don't have to tell me, dreams are the most personal things that you could have."

Understanding either way, he looked around the darkened hospital wing and shook sleep from his eyes again. It always took him a while to wake up.

"I normally don't have any dreams, just blackness and then I wake up." he said with a small yawn.

Now that Aquila was properly awake, she felt no tiredness and would be quite content if Lucian decided to sleep, for she would be able to watch him. Sleep was a most vulnerable moment in a persons life, when all of their worries were taken away and they drifted off into a land of unconsciousness. She wanted to see what Lucian looked like whilst he slept, but she was worried that it wouldn't be like someone else. She'd managed to figure out that he wasn't exactly… a normal wizard. He was something else entirely, but she didn't want to pry. Her eyes were drawn to his tattoo briefly, wondering if that was a part of who he really was.

"Well, I'm running. Its really dark, I think I'm in a tunnel, there's something chasing me and no matter how hard I run, I know that one day it'll catch me."

Aquila tilted her head, wondering. She was almost certain that he was most definitely not what a witch would call 'normal', and the fact that he didn't dream only made her more curious. She wished she didn't dream.

"Thats strange. But then again, you aren't exactly a normal wizard, are you?" She murmured.

Lucian could tell that Aquila was thinking something important, and he wondered for a moment what it was, hopefully it was not about him because he did not want to reveal what he really was to her just yet, in case he would be shunned.

He did not want to lose her because of something he could not control himself.

Listening to the dream that she had, Lucian couldn't help but frown, and he remembered that this dream often had the reverse meaning of what it appeared to be.

"Perhaps it means that you are trying to hide from something and that you need to tell somebody, or it could mean that you're under a lot of stress and it's getting worse and worse. I don't know I'm no soothsayer." he smiled gently.

With a small chuckle he shook his head:

"No, no I'm not a normal wizard you're right there."

Aquila frowned at his explanation, as it did make sense. She giggled as he commented that he wasn't a soothsayer, and she smiled softly back at him. She wondered what she'd done to deserve him, and instinctively she curled in closer to him.

Aquila didn't think she was under a lot of stress, but maybe she was hiding from something. She wasn't sure.

"Maybe, maybe. Quite insightful, aren't you?" She murmured.

Aquila smiled softly, but she couldn't for the life of her actually figure out what he was. She didn't think he'd want to tell her either, it was one of his secrets.

"Knew it, but don't worry, you can tell me whenever you want, if you ever want to."

She trusted him, and she didn't want him to think that she was some prying, annoying girl and ditch her.

Lucian smiled lightly when Aquila curled in closer to him, he wrapped his arm tighter around her shoulders and hugged her to him, not wanting to let her go any time soon just in case something happened to her than made him lose her for good.

He could protect her when she was close to him like this.

"Well when you're me you have a fair bit of experiance with situations like this, I bought a dream diary once, and used it to see what my own dreams meant."

Of course. This was over ten years ago.

Glad that Aquila seemed to understand what he was feeling regarding his secret, he gently kissed her forehead and strokes her cheek with his thumb.

"I will tell you, when I am ready, I just...don't want to lose you when I have just gotten you."

Aquila yawned once more as she felt the tiredness seep back into her body and make her eyes slide shut as she listened to his voice, as if it were a soft lullaby that could lull her to sleep.

Which, it probably could.

"A dream diary? Interesting, i've never even considered getting one of those. I've never been into all of that stuff, to be honest."

Aquila smiled happily as she felt his lips against her forehead, followed by his thumb stroking her cheek. She let her eyes open once more and she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek. She didn't mind not knowing, if it worried him so much.

"Okay, im fine with that. Im sure you wouldn't lose me."

She nestled her head in the crook of his neck and yawned again.

Lucian saw that Aquila was getting sleepy again, as one often did when they had just woken up from a sleep, it was something that he often did himself, and he kenw that she needed all the sleep that she could get, to make her better.

"Hmmm, although now you should probably return to your dreams, and I will be here in case you need me." he said.

Then a thought struck him, could he be the entity behind her horrible dreams? It was a common thing that Incubi did after all, invade the dreams of those they chose, could he be doing it subliminaly?

Shaking his head he dismissed those thoughts and just smiled;

"I probably wont, but it's me just being silly old Lucian like normal." he grinned.

Aquila smiled softly up at him, a feeling of completion in her that she had never felt before. Her heart fluttered just as he looked at her, and she could feel her cheeks flushing as she looked up at him. He was absolutely handsome with his hair messy from sleep.

"Okay."

She mumbled in response, her head resting against his chest once more. She sighed and relaxed her body entirely. She didn't notice his distracted and thoughtful expression as she yawned sleepily and felt her eyes droop.

"It doesn't work unless you say Luci, silly old Luci. Alright, im sleeping now."

Aquila let her eyes shut completely and slowly fell asleep.

Lucian chuckled lightly, and nodded his head when she said that she was going to be going off to sleep now, it sounded as if she needed it, and Lucian in all honesty was finding it hard to stay awake and speak much longer, so, reaching down to kiss her cheek, Lucian smiled;

"Sleep sweet Aquila." he whispered and then he himself fell asleep once more.
